The Laws of Human NatureBook Robert Greene

loved

I would recommend The Laws of Human Nature by Robert Green. It's basically like a compendium of every single type of personality disorder or psychological effect. How do people warp their minds to make bad decisions? Uh what is a narcissist? What is a psychopath? All that kind of stuff. And Robert Green does such a great job of telling all that in a really engaging way by using storytelling. So every single chapter has a story about someone with that personality disorder. Um, so I love that

How to Get RichBook Felix Dennis

loved

The other one that I love is a book by Felix Dennis called How to Get Rich. It's hilarious because the whole book starts out saying, "I got rich and I regret it and I wish that I'd become a poet and instead he went off and he built this huge publishing empire, became a poet in his 60s, and then he died of throat cancer." So it's his story. He basically says, "I'll tell you how to build the business even though you probably shouldn't." And I read that when I was in my 20s and I found it so exciting and inspiring and then I recently reread it and I was like, "Oh my god, why didn't I listen to this guy?

loved

I love Challengers. Uh I don't know if you've seen it, but it's amazingly acted, amazing cinematography, and it's like this amazing uh like romantic triad tennis movie. Really, really good.

Every entry is a verbatim quote and a link to the public post it came from. Nothing is paraphrased. If it is not on record somewhere public, it is not here.

The verdict is what they actually said: loved and liked are explicit; recommended means they told others to get it; uses means they only say they use it; read is a book on their public shelf with no verdict; mixed and disliked are kept too.

A dashed affiliate link, sponsored or their own label means the post disclosed a relationship. It is shown, never hidden.

The shading behind a date shows how dated a recommendation is for its kind of thing.

The shading behind a date shows how dated a recommendation is, for its kind of thing. Fully green is recent. It drains a quarter at a time as the post gets older, and is empty once it reads as dated.

What counts as old depends on the thing. A laptop praised four years ago has been replaced twice; a book loved twenty years ago is probably still loved. The shading is gone after about:

Stripes mean the post carries no date and the date shown is an estimate. No date at all, no shading.
