MacBook AirHardware Apple

loved

Recently, because I fell in love with the MacBook Air form factor, I migrated away from the Lenovo and Ubuntu in favor of a tiny happy 11" MacBook Air (i7). It works well.

Chrome Buran bagOther

loved

My daily driver is an black on black Chrome Buran bag. It is a very good bag. It isn't too fancy or clever. It just works.

KindleHardware Amazon

loved

The Kindle has been a magical device for me. Besides being able to instantly start new books, I love how single purpose the Kindle is. It makes it very easy to read books (as it should).

loved

I love and use github. I was not a git convert at first, but github made sharing code and working collaboratively better than ever. It is an amazing tool.

loved

One of my favorite killer apps is partychat. It is an open source Jabber-based persistent chat room. It works with Google Talk and is VERY simple.

Pack and Smooch Hampshire pouchOther

liked

Inside of these bags, my air lives in its own Pack and Smooch Hampshire pouch. It is felt and leather and was designed to not scratch up your air. Looks great too.

Kindle 4Hardware

recommended

The best Kindle they have made is the Kindle 4 (also known as the cheap kindle). After using the Aztec Kindle, the various Kindles with keyboards and finally the Kindle touch - I find that I am able to be a happier and more efficient reader with the cheaper kindle.

AiAiAi TMA-1Hardware

uses

At work I listen to a pair of AiAiAi TMA-1 powered by a candy tin headphone amp. At home I listen to a pair of Grado SR60i. I find that the Grado headphones are quite noisy for people around me compared to the TMA-1s.

Every entry is a verbatim quote and a link to the public post it came from. Nothing is paraphrased. If it is not on record somewhere public, it is not here.

The verdict is what they actually said: loved and liked are explicit; recommended means they told others to get it; uses means they only say they use it; read is a book on their public shelf with no verdict; mixed and disliked are kept too.

A dashed affiliate link, sponsored or their own label means the post disclosed a relationship. It is shown, never hidden.

The shading behind a date shows how dated a recommendation is for its kind of thing.

The shading behind a date shows how dated a recommendation is, for its kind of thing. Fully green is recent. It drains a quarter at a time as the post gets older, and is empty once it reads as dated.

What counts as old depends on the thing. A laptop praised four years ago has been replaced twice; a book loved twenty years ago is probably still loved. The shading is gone after about:

Stripes mean the post carries no date and the date shown is an estimate. No date at all, no shading.
